Hi! I'm McKenna
We all have a story.
Mine just happens to be visible.
I am a working mom of two beautiful girls, Karsen (8) and Maddox (5) with a husband that supports me unconditionally. I do not ever attempt to act as though my life is together because it is not even close. I am just another woman who is inspired daily by other moms who are in the same boat as I am...just trying to keep my head afloat while facing many challenges (both big and small) on a daily basis.
If I am not working out, teaching or coaching you will find me on the couch with my family relaxing. I love losing myself in a good book whether it is a romance novel or personal development, of course only when I have time.
I am in my 16th year of teaching AP Psychology to some of the best high school juniors and seniors around along with coaching varsity volleyball. Volleyball changed my life. It opened so many doors for me including playing at Hope College, traveling/playing in Switzerland, introducing me to my husband, but most of all it gave me the strength I have needed to fight many battles in my life.
So you might have noticed something a little different about me from my picture, huh? Thankfully, I do not have cancer. In late 2015 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Alopecia Universalis. This disease stripped me of my hair...EVERYWHERE. I mean EVERYWHERE! My eyebrows and eyelashes are gone along with any time spent shaving my legs!! (Silverlinings, right?)
Through all my life experiences, teaching AP Psychology, and working with teenagers and adults I have learned a great deal about human cognition and behavior and how to effectively use positive psychology to reach our goals.

RHONDA KIMMONS | FORMER SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
"I first met McKenna Reitz on August 15, 2019, at the Springfield Local Schools beginning of the year educator session. I immediately felt McKenna’s energy, passion, resolve, and commitment to live a purposeful life. We stayed connected and I realized just how determined she was to get her story, and her mission in front of people.
Since our missions are aligned, and because I am working with Springfield Schools throughout the 2019-2020 school year, I thought it made sense to have McKenna speak at my January 16, 2020 RISE “relaunch” event. All I can say is WOW, she blew everyone away with her powerful message that everyone has a story.
McKenna shared her personal story of how she began to deal with her Alopecia diagnosis, and how it transformed her to be the person she was always meant to be. She shared how powerful sharing her personal story has been, and how it helped her to be a more effective teacher, coach, mother, wife, daughter, and friend. McKenna gave participants tools on how they have the power to do the same, and the impact it will have on others. As a teacher, she knows first hand the powerful learning that can happen with students when educators apply self-care, social and emotional learning, and trauma informed care learning and strategies into the classroom.
McKenna is an excellent speaker and I highly recommend her for any organization, school or community event that needs an uplifting voice, and a powerful message of compassion, truth, hope, and love.
I’m so grateful for McKenna, and her conscious decision to live with a high degree of authenticity, vulnerability, and transparency that allows people to deeply connect with her, as they will begin to see pieces of hope, promise and love in themselves."
DIANA PATTON | CEO, SPEAKER, AUTHOR AND ATTORNEY
"While I’ve known McKenna for years, it was only recently that I had the pleasure of hearing her speak… as in, deliver a profound and beautiful message. Her presence in front of an audience is captivating, humorous and interactive. She told her story with such vulnerability that I left me feeling more empowered to be even more authentic and not sweat the small stuff."

"Well WOW, what can I say. McKenna is so inspiring and an absolute role model in all regards. I love the way she uses her life experiences to give back, teach, coach and uses her super powers and platform for good. We need more humans like McKenna in the world. She expresses herself with natural confidence and brings a very human factor to stage so to speak. If I were recruiting superheroes to put on my Avengers team to save the world, McKenna would be my first stop!! Love you McKenna, keep inspiring the world please."
LEIGH FISH | STRATEGIC LIFE COACH
"McKenna has a true gift! Her gift captivated my 7th grade students and inspired them to look beyond their many adversities. Her honest testimonial about her identity evoked emotion that allowed them to see new perspectives in this ever changing world. McKenna has a unique ability to connect with her audience and make a complex situation applicable to all. Her message was entertaining, high energy, motivational, thought provoking, powerful and engaging. She even sprinkled in a bit of humor to bring in a few giggles. McKenna’s passion is evident; she has the ability to equip her audience with tools to make positive changes and leaves her audience inspired to start their own personal journeys of positivity and change."
